sure does.  i think they were sitting there for a while as i had to untangle the roots from the others when i bought it.  i'm gonna be chopping it up in the next few days.

is it ok to graft to unrooted cuttings of hylocereus as i did with opuntia?  or should i let this stock grow out a bit first?  it does seem a bit spindly.

Grafting to cut stock is almost always a bit harder than grafting to rooted specimens. They are more susceptible to rot from the bottom up, but... as long as they were actively growing when you cut them you maybe able to graft on them. Suffice it to say that it is easier if you wait. I'd personally wait for this one unless you have ample stock to play with as well as scions. If you absolutely want to try though I'd say go ahead. Dusting the bottoms with sulfur dust often helps keep rot away.

i'm thinking about cutting that one up and rooting a bunch of them to get things started.  i think they should be a bit thicker though.

Hmm... Could be quite space efficient given its shape.  Its my first time working with this stock.  Any tips?

lots of short ones fer sure.


we had some of these things and variants, and it was promising.
we did not get to hydro any though.

one of the determining factors on graft wowza,
is root size/ surface area of root stock.
so alot of roots, alot of grow power.

in our experiments, we had limited root sizes.


im always of the opinion that humans know little about cacti.
experiments are wide open.
all my work should prove way more is possible than we realize.
the idea that some really solid graft stocks / tactics with alts is plausable.

i tend to stick with lophs and peres as a constant for my larger light/ hydro cacti experiments.
im always listening with other types of graft experiments , as amazing as perekiopsis is,
it has size limits....................

let this experiment continue as is.
then evaluate a denser shorter rootier tray verrsion.
