wow.  less than two hours in a mini greenhouse scorched a number of these cacti...  it was also pretty humid in there so i'm not sure if this also contributed... long road to recovery ahead.  :'( :-[ :o :( >:(  any tips?

yowza.

im speechless.

all ya can do is consolidate.
if nothing else ya can take this op to re arrange things.

light is tricky.

Chief BigTittyFlapFlaps

I can't believe I f'd this up...  I thought they were hardened off.

anne halonium

cut the dead stuff off, let re acclimatize to indoors.

most will survive in some way, and pups will be plentiful in a few months.

a burst of grafting will replenish the phorest in a year plus extra.

Chief BigTittyFlapFlaps

Jeez, really?  ..do I have to cut into them!?  I was planning on putting them back under artificial light and letting them slowly recover.  Some appear to be regaining color, would you leave those ones alone?

anne halonium

its gonna be case by case .

some are clearly cooked, some not so much
some may indeed recover, some may suddenly collapse.

i also noticed several with mite damage.

id cut at least some, and hope for offsets.
and id definitely go low on water for a while.

Chief BigTittyFlapFlaps

yes.  the mites came on fast.  they're mostly in the clear now after spraying with oil and soap as per your suggestions. lots of new growth.  i will need maintenance sprays from now on though.  alright i'll try some surgery...but only on the worst one or two.  i'm quite worried about the largest one.  the whitish tissue in the centre is still relatively soft but gradually firming up out at the perimeter.

yikes! this is so unfortunate  :(
was there a thermometer in the greenhouse? any way to tell just how hot it got in there?

anne halonium

pry was a matter of UV and not so much a heat issue.

ive burnt a few over the yrs.
fortunataly i was testing with trichocereus.

Chief BigTittyFlapFlaps

no way to tell the temp.  i planned on leaving them there temporarily.  it happened so fast...  still kicking myself.  most are showing signs of new growth.  one underwent surgery...  i'll post pics in a couple of weeks.

Glatch

wow that happened in only 2 hours ?! ,, what a loss :'(
