Sure you can add vinegar to your water to adjust your ph. but it all depends on the composition of your municipalities water, type of cacti you plan on growing and the ph range you're looking for..you can play around with a ph meter and vinegar to see how it changes the acidity.

When planting seeds I use approximately 40% perlite, 40% cactus soil, 5% rich compost and 5% washed sand. The perlite is good for proper drainage and the cactus soil/compost gives the young seedlings plenty of nutrients. I cover the top layer with desert sand.


The plants below are 3 month old Trichocereus peruvianus grown with the soil mix described above.
