Hi there. New to this seemingly new forum. I like to grow trichocereus cacti and have a very nice collection. Glad to see a forum dedicated to my favorite cacti that is a little more diverse in the type of information shared.

Thanks for being you.

Welcome to Sacred Cactus Chris. We are just getting the site up and trying to increase our traffic. In the coming weeks and months new features will be added as more members join.

How long have you been collecting and growing Trichocereus sp? I would love to hear more about your collection and see some photos.

I started growing them in probably 2005. Started with some cuttings of PC pachanoi. Grew them for a few years under less than optimal conditions in Washington. Eventually learned more and got myself some bridgesii cuttings, including a monstrose one (the short jointed one).

Moved back to Southern California about 1.5 years ago in part because of my growing obsession with cacti and succulents. I was fortunate enough to have a friend I had made over another internet forum who lives in the area who gave me a very large collection of quite mature bridgesii. Same friend also gave me some nice fat cuttings of a very nice fat non PC pachanoi. Looks similar to Juul's giant, but has some differences. Also have one macrogonus cutting that is growing but still small, as well as a few peruvianus, and the semi monstrose pachanoi that they call "ladder cactus" sometimes because it will grow straight for a while and then randomly throw a monstrose section.

But yeah, I have quite a collection these days. Steadily getting them planted in the ground. Perfect soil here. Nice sandy loamy soil. They are loving it! I'll have to get some pictures up one of these days.
